About Us
About Us
Our mission is to empower our children and equip them with the knowledge and tools to live their childhood to the fullest.
The Association of Parents of Children with Diabetes is a non-profit organization comprised of courageous parents who want to bring hope and positivity to the lives of our children after a diabetes diagnosis.
The future is here and rapidly evolving technology in addition to the availability of innovative diabetes management solutions will change the course of our children’s health and wellness.
We believe children should be free of burden, pain, and difficulties caused by a chronic illness when revolutionary medication, technology and best practices/treatments can enable them to live a safe and healthy childhood. Our association openly listens to the needs of children and actively searches for solutions to guarantee the quality of life they deserve.
As parents of children living with Type 1, we have received basic training to manage the complex chronic disease. It is our responsibility to administer, manage and provide medical treatment essential for their survival, 24/7. Children with Type 1 do not have a day off from their treatments – so neither do we. Unlike medical professionals who receive continuing training to update their knowledge, no planned or programmed training is offered to patients to acquire new management possibilities, therefore it’s up to us to take action.
